Archeology

 

Archeology is a department that trains historians. The chair was founded in 1936 on the basis of the pedagogical institute. In 1936-1976 the chair was headed by Turdymurat Bekimbetov, Yangibay Dosumov, Qashim Meniboev, Gaylip Nepesov, Oryngul Qydyrbaeva and Qytaybek Sarybaev. After the Nukus State University was founded, in 1976-1997 the chair was headed by A.Tureev, K.Muhammadberdiev, M.Tleumuratov, M.Turebekov. In 1998-2013 the department was headed by E.Bijanov, J. Aitmuratov, M. Sh.Kdirniyazov, S.Saymanov, M.Seytimbetov, since September, 2013 S.A.Sulaymanov has been heading the chair.

At the present time the department has the following professors: M.Sh.Girdniyazov, professor RJJurazbaeva, associate professors M.Turebekov, J.Aytmuratov, G.Karamanova, S.Sulaymanov, G.Tureeva, PhD Ph.D., senior lecturer S.Saypov, assistant-teachers F.Utepbergenov, A.Alimbetov, I.Elmuratov, N.Seytimbetova, G.Abdirova, M.Tolybaev, as well as professors G.Hojaniyazov, t. f.n. M. Davletaliev are working scientifically-pedagogical activity.

The department prepares masters in the field of bachelor’s and master’s  degrees on  archeology. The department has scientific relations with the Chairs of History of the Academy of Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the RUz, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, UzSPB, UrSU, NDPI. Professors and teachers of the department take part in international and national scientific-theoretical conferences and seminars. The works such as the professor of the chair M.Sh.Kdirniyazov’s ” Mizdahkan in medieval centuries” (Samarkand-2010), “Culture of Khorezm in XIII-XIV cc” (Samarkand-2011), “The History of Khorezm civilization” (Nukus-2018), professor R.Urazbaeva ” History of the Karakalpakstan (Tashkent -2011), World Teacher’s Handbook (Tashkent-2018), docent M.Turbekov’s “Medieval History” I-volume (Nukus-2009), “History of Karakalpakstan” (Nukus-2010), “Archeology” (Nukus-2015), G.Karamanova’s “Museum’s” textbook (Nukus-2014), S.Sulaymanov’s “World History” I-part (Tashkent-2018) were published.

At the department professor M-Sh.Kdirniyazov’s “F 1.78. The scientific project “History of Khorezm civilization” and scientifically-practical project ” OT-A1-85 Origin of culture of Khorezm archeology ” were done. Within the framework of the project, professors and masters participated.

Senior lecturer S.Saypov 07.00.05. The theme of archeology “History of medieval ceramics of Khorezm (IX-XIV centuries)”, A.Alimbetov 07.00.05. are doing their PhD thesis on “Archeology in the Medieval Khorezm”. The scientific adviser is Doctor of Historical Sciences M. Sh.Kdirniyazov.

On bachelor’s degree of the history practices are held in the archeological complex named after “Mizdahkhan”,  in the Central Archeological archives of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, museums and pedagogical practices are held in secondary schools and academic lyceums.

Professors and teachers of the department

Sulaymanov Salamat Arepbaevich, candidate of historical sciences, was born on March 17, 1978 in Kegeyli district. In 1999 he graduated from the Karakalpak State University. His specialty is historian. In 2010 he defended his PhD dissertation on the theme of “History of Flotilla Aral and Amudarya”. He published more than 40 scientific works. In particular, published two methodological manuals. Since 2001 he has worked as an assistant-teacher, associate professor at the Department of History of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan. Since 2013, he has been the head of the department “Archeology”.

Urazbaeva Ravshan Djangabaevna, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, “Teacher of Youth in the Republic of Karakalpakstan”. He was born on September 17, 1958 in the Amudarya district. In 1980 graduated from Nukus State Pedagogical Institute. His specialty is historian. In 1984 she defended her PhD thesis on the history of higher and secondary special education in Karakalpakstan, in 2012 she defended her doctoral thesis on “History of Education in Karakalpakstan”. more than 100 scientific and methodical works were published. Since 1980 she has been working at the Karakalpak State University as a teacher, senior teacher, associate professor, and since 2014 is a professor of archeology department.

Turebekov Mirzali, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor. He was born on January 19, 1954 in Takhtakupir district. In 1974 he graduated from the Karakalpak State Pedagogical Institute. Specialty: History and geography. In 1982, he defended his PhD thesis on “Fortifications of ancient and early medieval structures of Sogda”. more than 100 scientific and methodical works were published. In particular, 3 monographs, 3 textbooks, 7 manuals were published. From 1982 he worked as the head of the department and dean of the Karakalpak State University. Since 1998 – he has been associate Professor of the Department of Archeology.

Aytmuratov Jalgas, Candidate of Historical Sciences, docent. He was born on April 7, 1957 in the village of Kungrat. In 1978 he graduated from Nukus State University. His specialty is historian. In 1997 he defended his PhD thesis on the “general situation and development direction of Karakalpak culture in 70-90th of XX century”. More than 80 scientific and methodical works were published. In particular, 3 monographs and 4 methodical manuals were published. Since 2000, he has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Archeology.

Tureeva Gulsara Arisovna, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor. She was born on March 7, 1967 in Nukus. In 1989 she graduated from Nukus State University. His specialty is historian. In 2006 she defended her PhD thesis on “The policy of housing construction in Karakalpakstan.” more than 60 scientific works were published. In particular, 5 methodical manuals were published. Since 1994 she has been working as an assistant teacher at Karakalpak State University, since 2000, she has been associate professor at the Department of Archeology.

Karamanova Gulistan, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor. She was born on April 23, 1968 in Takhtakupir district. In 1990 she graduated from Nukus State University. Her specialty is historian. She has been working at the Karakalpak State University since 1990. In 2012 she defended her PhD thesis on “History of agrarian relations in Karakalpakstan (1917-1941)”. About 70 scientific works have been published. In particular, 5 methodical manuals were published. Since 2014, she has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Archeology.

Khakimniyazov Quatbay Allaniyazovich, Candidate of Historical Sciences. Born on April 20, 1969 in Nukus district. In 1993 he graduated from the Karakalpak State University. His specialty is historian. In 2002, he defended his PhD thesis on “Issues and Challenges in Karakalpakstan in 1932-1941”. Published more than 50 scientific works. In particular, 6 manuals were published. He has been working in Karakalpak State University since 1995. Since 2016, he is a senior lecturer at the Department of Archeology.
